We will help you to develop your self-confidence and leadership ability, to improve your level of physical fitness and to learn something about the Canadian Army.
Every year, thousands of young people take advantage of what Army Cadets offer. Many Army Cadets are selected for one of four summer training courses. These courses are two, three of six weeks in length, and are free of charge. Graduates from the three and six-week courses are even paid a cash bonus! Other Army Cadets travel to foreign countries as participants in our International Exchange Programme.
As an Army Cadet you will follow basic military traditions including the wearing of a unifrom and the learning of military drill. Each of these traditions will increase your self-awareness, personal pride and teamwork. you will be joining a team that prides itself on being the oldest youth movement in Canada and one of the finest in the world.

Questions and Answers:
1. How old must I be to join Army Cadets?
You can join once you have reached your 12th birthday and can remain in cadets until you turn 19.
2. How often do Army Cadets train?
You will parade with your Army Cadet Corps one night each week. Additional training nights and weekends for extra activites such as band practice, competitions and overnight training weekends may be required.
3. Does it cost anything to join?
NO! In fact, even your uniform(s) are provided free of charge, while you remain in Army Cadets. (You are responsible for your equipment while you are an Army Cadet)
4. Are Army Cadets paid?
No. However, cadets who complete certain summer training course are paid a training bonus and those senior cadets hired for staff positions during the summer months are paid reasonable wages.
5. Will I be expected to join the Canadian Forces?
No. Those who do join, however, find they have already learned some valuable skills through their cadet training.
