Caramels

Ingredients:

1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup karo syrup
1/2 cup cream
1/4 cup butter
2 tsp vanilla

Mix all ingredients except vanilla. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly. Cook until the mixture reaches the soft ball stage. Add vanilla, mix well and then turn out into a buttered pan. When cool, remopve from the pan and cut into squares. Wrap the caramels in wax paper and store in an airtight container in a cool place until ready to use.
