Blessed
I awaken in the morning
Thinking of all that I have
That I have done
All that I continue to do
Everyday
I think of all those people
Who have to go without
The luxuries that I cherish
People who haven’t any food
Or clothing
People who sleep on benches
Because they have no income
They can’t afford shelter
I think of all of these things
I realize how blessed I am
To be living this life
That the Lord handed me
