Beat the egg whites until stiff. Beat in the icing sugar 2 tbsp at a time. The mixture should be stiff and glossy. Beat the almonds, lemon juice, cinnamon, and mace into the egg white mixture. Let it stand 30 to 60 minutes it should dry out and be firm. Spinkle a baking board(counter) with sugar. Roll out the dough to a thickness of ½ to 1/4 inch. Cut out the dough with a star shaped cookie cutter. Place on buttered and floured cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 275 degree oven for about 15 minutes.
