This is
a good Death-Metal album that contains the regular Cannibal Corpse ingredients;
Gore, Gore, Gore and some Gore. And oh yeah, I almost forgot the Gore!
The intro with Staring.. is exactly right. You can even hear what
Chris growls before you've read the lyrics. The mayhem continues with Fucked..,
which is a regular Cannibal Corpse song. Then, Stripped, raped and strangled
starts and it is heavy! The best song from the album, without a doubt,
might even be the best Cannibal Corpse song ever! Only Hammer
smashed face can beat Stripped. Anyway, after Stripped
another great Cannibal Corpse song which now is considered a classic comes
along, namely Pulverized. If you ask me, it's just another song,
but many Cannibal Corpse fans like this song very much. Return to flesh
is just another Gore song that don't stand out. The pick-axe murders
is very heavy and probably the 3rd best song from the album. She was
asking for it is another song that's just there. The title song, The
Bleeding, is great, lots of killer riffs in it, probably 2nd best on
the album. Force fed.. and Experiment.. are unfortunately
two more songs that never stands out.
All in all, it is exactly what you expect from Cannibal Corpse. Half of
the album is great and new, and the other half is stuff that sounds just
like other songs from old albums, songs that never really had a chance,
they're just there so it can be called Album and not E.P.
This is also Chris Barnes last album with Cannibal Corpse. He was fired
during the writing of Vile, and decided to have his side project
Six Feet Under as his full time band. Six Feet Under has
released 3 great albums and 1 great E.P during their 4 years as a real
band.
