Who Is Mamma Alda?
The best mother ever, (perhaps because she’s the only mum
I’ve ever had!), mamma Alda is the only mum who really knows
how to
make tortellini as they should be made (without wishing
to offend any Bolognese mums!).
The only difference in the two photographs, although taken
a number of years apart, is the ‘tell-tale’ fashion style of the respective
periods, (even though the clothing in the earlier photo is in fashion today).
The wife of Guido,
mamma Alda has happily given her best years bringing up
and keeping fed
four hungry children.
It is mostly thanks to this circumstance that mamma Alda
has made an art out of preparing her fantastic tortellini.
Most of her virtues, (which are too numerous to mention), for modesty’s sake are best kept within the four family walls, but now the secret of her tortellini can be enjoyed by everyone.
Having said that, (and until the next installment about my
exceptional family), all you need to do now is to go and buy
the ingredients and try your hand at mamma Alda’s tortellini!
