Crockpot Beef Stew - two berries

I wanted a really easy stew I could make with what I had in the kitchen. This is what I came up with.

Ingredients

1/2 lb. stew beef cubes
flour
2-3 carrots
4-6 potatoes
sliced waterchestnuts
onion (pearl onions or cut onion)
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt

Cooking

  1. Brown stew beef cubes in a skillet.
  2. Coat browned beef with flour. You can be generous with this as the flour will thicken the stew liquid when cooking.
  3. Cut carrots and potatoes and put in crockpot.
  4. Add waterchestnuts, onion, sauces, and spices.
  5. Add stew meat to crockpot.
  6. Deglaze skillet with water and pour the water into the crockpot.
  7. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 in crockpot.

Tips

If you need to thicken the stew, add about a tablespoon of flour into the stew and cook for another half hour (to cook out the flour taste).
