Crockpot Beef Stew
|
|
I wanted a really easy stew I could make with what I had in the kitchen. This is what I came up with.
Ingredients
1/2 lb. stew beef cubes
flour
2-3 carrots
4-6 potatoes
sliced waterchestnuts
onion (pearl onions or cut onion)
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
Cooking
- Brown stew beef cubes in a skillet.
- Coat browned beef with flour. You can be generous with this as the flour will thicken the stew liquid when cooking.
- Cut carrots and potatoes and put in crockpot.
- Add waterchestnuts, onion, sauces, and spices.
- Add stew meat to crockpot.
- Deglaze skillet with water and pour the water into the crockpot.
- Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 in crockpot.
If you need to thicken the stew, add about a tablespoon of flour into the stew and cook for another half hour (to cook out the flour taste).
