JEANELLE'S PLACE SOME BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION FOR GETTING TO KNOW ME BETTER

I was born in a small town along the banks of Bayou Lafourche about 45 miles southwest of New Orleans, Louisiana. I was the 4th of 5 children born to my parents. All of us and my mother live within 5 miles of each other in this small town. I graduated from the local high school and graduated from the local college with a BA in Elementary Education/Library Science. I began my teaching career in 1964. I taught 3rd and 4th graders until 1971. It was then I was able to transfer into a school librarian's position; a position I held until my retirement in 1998. I have always loved books. I worked in the local public library while I was in college. It was this love of books and reading that drove me to become a librarian. It is my wish that all children could learn to love books. Books are worlds at their fingertips.

I have 2 children. My daughter is married and lives 2 hours away from me. She is a Home Economist for the LSU Extension Service. My son-in-law is a 4-H agent for the LSU Extension Service. They presented me with my first grandchild, a bouncing baby boy on April 2, 1999. He weighed in at 8 lbs. 2 oz.. My son still lives at home with me. He has his own lawncare service. My children and my grandson are my world.

WHISPERS A child's love is like a WHISPER given in little ways we do not hear. But if you listen closely it will be very clear. They often do not say it loud but in how they come to you... Daddy, will you play with me? Mommy, tie my shoe? ...the many ways they tell you changes as they grow. Dad I made the team today! Mom I've got to go! Pop I need some money You see ...there's this girl at school..... Mama I met a boy today and WOW he is so cool......! Dad I've got something to tell you...... I think she is the one. Mom, He asked me to marry him. Would you love him as your son? Dad I've got some news for you..... It's gonna be a boy!!! Mom I'm kind of scared of this, yet I'm filled with joy! I am a sufferer of Hidradenitis Suppurativa as classified by the National Organization of Rare Disorders. HS is a bacterial infection that occurs in certain areas of the body producing obstruction and rupture of the apocrine glands.
