Chevalier-Montrachet, 1991, Domaine Leflaive
The third and last grand cru in the line up of 1991 Leflaives. And what a finish it was. Briljant
greengolden colour, perfect clarity. Intensely concentrated minerally nose, touch of wood.
Totally different from the Batard-Montrachet. If Batard was hedonistic, this one would be
staggeringly minerally. Terroir resounding in every detail of the taste and aftertaste.
Wonderfull intensity, even for this lighter vintage. A hammering burgundy, perfection for a
terroiriste. This one stole my heart.
Tasted November 1994 at a personally organized 1991 Leflaive tasting.
