Meursault Charmes, 1992, Comtes Lafon

Tasted shortly after it was bottled, at the Domaine. To be honest, I found this wine hard to assess, but for a rather special reason. The bottle was opened by the cellar master shortly after we tasted a cask sample of the 1993 Lafon Montrachet. And the taste of that wine made it hard for this wine to shine through on my palet at that moment.

Very full in colour, smokey and still woody nose with very good ripeness of fruit. Body hard to judge for reason mentioned earlier. Good finish. In general a very well rounded and balanced wine. It's in my cellar, but I am afraid I will wait a while before touching them. Should be a great wine though.

Tasted July 1994 at the Domaine. 1
