Meursault Genevrieres, 1993, Comtes Lafon

One note so far, a cask sample tasted at the Domaine in 1993. With respect to this sample I have to add that lafon later decalssified nearly 70% of their premiers crus Meursaults of that year.

The wine then had a beautifully feminine appearance. Much lighter in pure power and more elegant and refined in style, yet unmistakeably a Lafon wine. Soft, gentle tone of oak (Lafon uses lighter oak on this wine than on the other premiers crus), beautiful balance, despite noticeable acidity. Well enough class and stuffings to survive the acidity. Needs time.

Tasted July 1994 at the Domaine. 1
