Meursault Perrieres, 1993, Comtes Lafon
One note so far, a cask sample tasted at the Domaine in 1994. With respect to this sample (also) I have to add that Lafon later decalssified nearly 70% of their premiers crus Meursaults of that year.
Almost a magnitude bigger, more powerfull and more intense than the other two premiers
crus. Mineralness already gulping out of the bouquet that was loaded with power. Not as full
bodied as I maybe expected, and with firm acidity as well, but a wine with a terroir that
hammered into your palet. Very impressive wine for a terroiriste like me. Wonderfully intense
and a wine not easily forgotten. Unfortunately this wine is so hard to get that I could not lay
my hands on a few bottles.
Tasted July 1994 at the Domaine.
