Comments: What a great site, I have been looking at weimeraners for ages, my first time about 10 years ago. I would like companion dog to take riding with me, to the beach with me, in the car with me, to work (on weekends - Im a legal secretary in the city - boss ould get used to it) and to play with my 8 year old son. My husband is not an animal person but I just cant survive without them. I have an anglo arabian filly, HP Cover Girl ("Covers"). We are studying level 2 of Parreli Natural Horse Man Ship. I see her every day, sometimes twice I have worked out that I would be able to exercise a dog for about an hour each day as I feed up at about 5.30 am each day before I go to work and I could spend at least 2-3 hours quality family time in the evengings. On we kends I ride for about 3-4 hours a day and I would also like to attend agility and obedience training. I have spent a lot of time considering whether I would have enough time for a Weimeraner and I would appreciate it if you or any of your site visitors ave a view on my situation. Another question, how does Ellie get on with your horse, how did you introduce them. Covers is very playful and inquisitive, typically arab. I would love to hear from anyone who has time! Tricia

Comments: Hello again. I cannot believe all the e-mails you have been receiving from amateurs regarding the purchase of a Weimaraner. I hope and pray that everyone does their research either on the Internet or with the purchase of written material about the tempe mant, etc. of this breed of dog. I am a member of the Weimaraner Club of America (a site easy to find on the computer) and am heartbroken when I the read the rescue pages. So, my response to people who say they want a Weim. is to reply, "no you don't." YOU HAVE NOT DONE YOUR RESEARCH! And I'll tell you why. I love this breed so much and would never have another. I feel this message is necessary. They need a lot of exercise, running, agility, field work, long walks, tracking, and a full session of ob dience training. They are very stubborn dogs. If you purchase your puppy from a Weim. Club of America breeder, you will pay top dollar, if she/he allows you to purchase a pup. But, your Weim. will be socialized early and will be taken care of from day ne. I am appalled by so many people walking up to me saying "can I breed with your dog?" They are in it just for the money a pup will bring. How disgusting! My dog is neutured because he is not "absolute breed quality" (although very handsome!) and I ant him to stay at home. Also, I know nothing about breeding puppies. Weims. can take up to their 4th birthday to settle down. They love to hunt and really love their owners over everyone else they meet. I am happy to say that we have CGC'd two times, are working on our CD (one more leg to go), CDX will be quicker hopefully, do agility and have been certified by Delta Society (animal assisted activities). Tracking is done for fun where we live. If you do not know what these terms are, do not get a do and do not get a Weimaraner. There are too many in rescue right now. And it breaks my heart. I used to have a belgian sheepdog some weeks ago, but he was diagnosed with cancer, the doctors couldnt save him so my dad decided to put him to sleep. Since then he has been pretty lonely so I ecided to look for a dog. However, Im not sure what breed I should get. I have looked through several pages and dog catalogs and the ones I have liked are the Weimaraner and the Labrador Retrievers. The problem is that belgian sheepdogs are crazy dogs, ou s barked at everyone, he ran and catched birds in our garden and of course, we had no garden. Comments: Well well well isnt little Miss Ellie a cutie. Love the pictur on the chair. The Santa photo cracked me up. She had such a Weim. look on her face. My Weim is named Foster he is going to be four in aprox. July-Aug. We are not sure when he was born. I got him when he was 8 weeks old thay think. I wanted a Weim but when I went to pick him up this grey funky looking thing was there. I said are you su e that this log will grow into a beautiful dog like in these pictures? They assured me and I took him home. Now he is even more beautiful than those other Weims. Part of the deal with me bbeing able to get him for $75. was that he must be fixed first. Now i kind of regret it cause he is the most beautiful dog ever. He weighs 80 pounds and is a lap dog( I weigh 95) When I first got him, I had never had a dog before and didnt know the exstent to the responsibility. We lived in a small house with an average sized yard. I was a college student who worked 30 hours a day also. He would tear up all the things that mean anything to me. I realized he was trying to communicate to me. I thought, when he had just turned 1, that I'm not gonna make it as a pet owner. Either he has to go or I do. Well I prayed for some type of answer, and one came. I foud a house in the c untryside just outside of city limits on 10 acres for $250. per mounth. Well, we moved, I had alot to give up. I pretty much live in a shack. I have an outhouse. About 2 weeks after we moved in a new dog (part chow) decided to move in too, so Foster go a friend. They reun around all day while I teach, I leave the door open and they go in and out. We have been there for over 2 years, and I cant believe I ever thought of giving up on my bestfriend. He is so smart, and has a conscience. He gets along w th all the neighborhood dogs and is very submissive to even the smallest poodle. He loves babies. One of my students gave me a 1 week old kitten that was abandened. I nurced it myself for 2 weeks, then school started back up and I had to leave the kitt n alone with foster.I thought OH this is too tempting for a dog he'll probably eat him. Well when I got home my dog didnt meet me at the entrance of my driveway as he always does. I called him and he didnt come running. I walked 2 acres back to the hou e and he wasnt shut in. I entered the house and he still didnt come. I thought oh he will be cowering in acorner scared to come out cause he hurt the baby kitty. Well I enter the den and i see Foster laying down looking at me with Im sorry eyes then i otice why, the kitten is snuggled up in his chest between his 2 front legs sleeping. That cat thinks that Foster is his mommy. He used to nurce on the dogs nipples and foster would just sit there and let him. Now the kitten is part dog and part cat. I currently have a cat named Majick who is a sable Burmese mix, however, you can't exactly take a cat for a walk especially in the winter. I am curr ntly volunteering at a humane society and right now we are housing a Doberman Weimaraner mix named Betty. She has the body of the Doberman but the beautiful coloring of the Weimaraner. I would love greatly to adopt her however I don't know much about th Weimaraner breed. I have tried the internet and your homepage was the only information that came up. Comments: just surfing the net and found your site....we just had 10 beautiful babies on Sept. 2, 98....this makes our 4th litter...the largest we have ever experienced, but we sold all 10 to some wonderful couples...made several children much happier, and 1 bride o be overwhelmed...you see the groom to be put the ring on the collar of her new 6 week old puppy...and she said Y E S !!!! Our male Weimer is 3 1/2 years old and loves to hunt duck, dove, quail, pheasant, and we found out yesterday he loves to run deer. ...OLLIE, our female is spoil rotten brat who still loves to get in my lap ( @ 80 lbs.) for TV time. She has been trained for retrieving also, but stays at home with momma while us guys go out hunting.... nice visiting with you.. talk at you later !!!

Norton is the "typical" color (mouse gray maybe) and Trixie is deer gray, more of a dark gray/brown. Both are healthy, happy and wonderfu companions.
