2 cups all purpose flour
2 tbs. sugar
1 tbs. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar
cheese
1 egg
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3 tbs. milk
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease baking sheet.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Stir in cheese.
In another bowl, combine egg, sour cream, oil and milk. Stir into dry ingredients just until miostened. Turn onto a foured surface and knead gently 10-12 times. Gently pat our to 1/3-in. thickness. Cut with a 3-in. round cutter.
Place on baking sheet.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes appx. 12 scones
