Incidentally, "Ryan's Daughter" has the best love scene (in my opinion) ever filmed. Click on the "Ryan's Daughter" link below to read more about it!

The Internet Movie Database! (Academy Awards, etc.)
"Ryan's Daughter" (1970): An underrated film. Very poetic and lovely. It highlights one of the greatest scenes of passionate lovemaking ever to melt celluloid.
"Medium Cool" (1969): An incredible encapsulation of the turbulent late 1960's America. Its star, Robert Forster, resurfaced in 1997's "Jackie Brown."
"The Thin Red Line" (1998): A series of unforgettable images, and an otherworldly soundtrack. No glamorization of war or nationalism WHATSOEVER. Pure cinema!
"Elvira Madigan" (1967): A gorgeous Swedish film. The shocking, yet poignantly heartbreaking ending lingers.
"Before Sunrise": "Can the greatest romance of your life last only one night?"
"Le Hussard sur le Toit"
More "Hussard": The passion of revolution and untainted love
A review of the funny, poignant "Chasing Amy"
"Summer of '42": Filmed in one of my favorite parts of California--Mendocino!
