Film as Poetry: the haunting "The Thin Red Line"
(My Favorite of 1998-99)

I love movies, especially serious films trying to chart a map into the human condition. I confess that I like stories with sad endings, and tragic films like "The Thin Red Line" and "Ryan's Daughter" speak to me directly.
