Kelly's Salsa & Cheese Burgers
1 pound ground beef
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup salsa
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar or mozzarella, or both mixed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
small amount chopped chili peppers to taste (optional)
Lightly grease the grill, and get the BBQ pit preheated to medium / high heat. In a medium size bowl, mix beef with the egg, salsa, cheese, salt, and pepper, just until combined. Shape into four burgers. Place burgers on the grill and BBQ until thoroughly cooked through and no pink remains in the center, about 5 to 6 minutes per side.
Dress up the cooked burger with more salsa and cheese, if desired.
