My Gripe Of The Week 08/28/97

Unless you want to hear me bitch and whine and moan about what is really pissing me off this week, I suggest you try one of my other pages.

Well here it is another week and another chance to vent my anger, frustration, or just plain astonishment about a subject about which I am passionate.

Just the other day I was checking out one of the cigar BBS boards and something I read really made me mad. I don't know if the person who wrote it really knew what he was saying or just doesn't have a clue.

Well basicly what he said was that his regular tobacco shop would not sell him more than 5-6 of his favorite cigars at a time, and he thought he should find someone else to sell him cigars.

I am a tobacco dealer and I can tell you that if a shop only has three box's of Fuente Hemingway's, the shop owner would be stupid as hell to sell 1/3 of his stock to one customer! And this dumb asshole was going to change dealers over something like this.

You customers out there should go to your local tobacco shop and shake that guy's (or ladie's) hand an tell him just how glad you are he is there. Because I am telling you when all this fuss about cigars is over 1/2 of all these new shops are going to be gone and people in these towns will have no where to buy cigars except mail order.

Well you say that is just fine, prices are better mail order anyway. Maybe now but just you wait. When the local tobacco shops are closed down and no one at this big mail order shop cares wheather you get your cigars or not ( even if it was just 5-6 of them) what are you going to do then you ungratefull little asshole.

There are lessons to be learned from history about large corporations controlling an industry such as the old A&P Groceries, Walmart, and Microsoft.

Treat your local tobacco shop owner nicely because when they are gone you will have no place to smoke a cigar, chat with friends and enjoy your cigars because it's hard to smoke a cigar in a cardboard box!
