Crenicichla sp. Rio Atabapo

Crenicichla sp. Rio Atabapo (undescribed)

Group: Lugubris

Distribution: Rio Atabapo in Colombia and possibly in Rio Negro as well.

Size: 12-14 inches

Comments: This is a closely related species to C. marmorata and C. lenticulata. It is not very frequently imported. This fish possesses a lot of red coloration and would make a attarctive aquarium resident. It's size, however, may deter some hobbyists. It's habitat is strictly black water and that should be remembered if you want to attempt breeding it.
