Gymnogeophagus rhabdotus

Gymnogeophagus rhabdotus

Distribution: Uruguay and Argentina

Size: 4-5 inches

Comments: This fish is very similar to G. meridionalis but does not get the sooty, black lining on the unpaired fins during courtship and broodcare like G. meridionalis. In Uruguay, it is not as common as G. meridionalis. This specimen was collected in Treinta y Tres, Uruguay.
