GPS Coordinates: No GPS reading, but it is 100 Km from Salto.
The pool was murky with cow dung and there were SO MANY tetras, small Hoplias lacerdae and Hyphessobrycon meridionalis.

Gymnogeophagus
Yet another different Gymnogeophagus sp. from the gymnogenys group. This area is drained by the Rio Arapey, a moderate sized river south of Rio Cuareim. The Arapey drainage appears to have a different set of species.

  • Hoplias lacerdai
  • Hyphessobrycon uruguayensis
  • Astyanax sp. Blue
  • Astyanax sp. Bar Tail
  • Gymno. sp. Norte (rhabdotus group)
  • Corydoras paleatus
