2Pac was shot 4 times in the chest on Saturday, September 7, 1996 near the Las Vegas strip.
2Pac, who was only 25 years old was riding in the passenger seat of his black BMW driven by Suge Knight, when four men in a white cadillac, who riddled the car with bullets.
2Pac was hit four times in the chest and rushed to the University Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery, Satuday night and again on Sunday night.
Doctors were forced to remove 2Pac's right lung, but he was expected to survive.
Knight suffered a minor head wound, was treated and released. No arrests have been made.
This was not the first time Tupac has been the victim of a shooting : in November of 1994, he was shot five times and robbed of about $40,000 worth of jewerly in the lobby of a Manhattan recording studio.
On Friday 13th of September 1996 at 4:03 pm, Tupac Amaru Shakur was pronounced dead.
