Irondqoit Bay is a medium sized bay off Lake Ontario, in New York. It is used
used for sport fishing & recreation. Most homes on the Bay are year round
residences. However there are some summer cottages and many undeveloped
areas. There are a lot of standing jokes regarding the weather across Upstate
New York, especially the snow belt regions. However, some friends and I went
hiking in undeveloped bluffs on the East side of the Bay on January 6 back about
1979. Winter has clearly missed Upstate New York so far as these photos clearly
indicate. The view (27 KBytes) from
a clearing on the ridge line, looking North/Northwest over
the Bay towards Ontario (just visible). We stopped in another clearing, had
a picnic, and let the dogs rest. Here's
my puppy "Sarge" (21 KBytes) at about 8 months with
Georgina. The dog stayed around a long time, but Georgina didn't. As an
adult, he weighed 125 Lbs and lived a long a happy life.
