Recipe of the Week ~ " All Night Long " Cinnamon Coffee

Each time I look at the photos at my site of Patsy "posing " at her dinner table, I think of the fun she would have had hosting elegant dinner parties. And do I think The Cline would have served regular coffee at these parties ? No way! She would have brewed up something special for sure. And what better way for Patsy to have bid her guests good night, than by serving them a special flavored coffee before they headed for home. Sure sounds good to me. Make sure to use regular coffee, not de-cafe. After all, there's nothing like some good old-fashioned caffeine to help keep you and your honey awake, so he/she can call you "baby, baby all night long!"

You'll need:

  • Drip coffee maker ( make sure it is clean and free from coffee oil residue)
  • water to make 8 cups of coffee
  • 5 1/2 tbs. of fresh vanilla or vanilla nut coffee beans freshly ground (You may have the store do this for you if you do not have your own bean grinder)
  • 1 1/2 tsp grated orange peel
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon

Grind coffee according to your grinder's instructions. Place a filter or gold filter in your coffee machine basket and add the freshly ground coffee beans. Add the grated orange peel and the cinnamon to the top of the ground coffee. Brew and serve. Fix the coffee as you would any cup of coffee using your choice of cream, sugar, chocolate shavings, cinnamon sticks ~ whatever! Enjoy!

I make some form of flavored or speciality coffee nearly everyday. I just love experimenting with the different flavors. This particular recipe is among my favorite creations.

Note: I never allow coffee to sit more than 20 minutes on a heat coil as the coffee begins to deteriorate rapidly after that! Pour any leftovers into a coffee carafe to keep it warm for several hours. 1
