When Patsy sang this song on the Arthur Godfrey show, he commented that it was very nice, but a little sad, to which Patsy replied, " Well, if there was a third cigarette in your ashtray you'd feel kinda sad too! ". Naturally, the audience loved Patsy and loved the song.
In the year 2000, the chances of finding a cafe which permits smoking isn't easy, but in 1957 it was a given.
Back then, even more so than today, cigarettes and coffee went hand~in~hand. Thus in remembrance of a by~gone era, I present this coffee recipe. It's easy and delicious.
Dissolve espresso in the boiling water. Add the chocolate
mix and then pour into 4 demitasse cups. Whip the cream until stiff. Fold in the sugar and the orange peel. Spoon a nice size dollop of whipped cream on top of each cup of coffee. Sprinkle whipped cream with nutmeg to taste. Serves 4.
