Song of Week for 2/20 : "There He Goes"
Recipe of Week: " If I Hadn't Cheated " Easy Napoleons
My philosophy has always been, if you're going to cheat, it had better be worth it! Here is a diet-breaking recipe for "Easy Napoleons". This recipe was given to me by Lisa Flood. Lisa had this to say about these delectable treats. "They taste delicious and look so beautiful, your guests will think you've slaved for hours." She's right!
1 - sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed for 20 minutes
1 - 4.5oz box instant chocolate pudding
1 - cup of sour cream
1 - cup of milk
1 - cup of confectioner's sugar
1 - tbs. of milk
2 - oz. semi-sweet chocolate, melted
pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Cut the pastry into 4 strips 2.5 inches wide. Cut each strip into thirds. Bake strips on an ungreased baking sheet 12-15 minutes.
Filling: Prepare pudding as directed on box, but instead of 2 cups of milk, substitute 1 cup of sour cream and 1 cup of milk.
To Fill: Cut pastry rectangles in half. One half will be a top, the other half will be a bottom. Spoon a generous amount of filling on bottom half; place a top half on it.
Decorate: Blend confectioner's sugar with the tablespoon of milk until smooth. Spread onto each pastry. using a fork, paint streaks of melted chocolate across the tops. Keep refrigerated.
