MACARONI AND CHEESE CASSEROLE


You'll need:

  • 12 ounces macaroni
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

    1) Preheat the oven to 375 degree F. Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water until tender ~ about 8 minutes. Drain very well and place pasta in large mixing bowl.
    2) Mix the macaroni with the remaining ingredients. Put aside about 1/4 cup of milk and a 1/4 cup of cheese. Transfer to a very lightly buttered casserole dish. Pour the reserved milk over the top and sprinkle with the reserved cheese.
    3) Bake until the top crust is golden brown and the casserole is bubbling, about 25 minutes. Serve hot.
