Patsifans will tell you Patsy Cline liked to order Chinese food. Now, you can enjoy the taste of Chinese spareribs by preparing them yourself. After all, when ordering take-out they never give you enough to eat in those foil bags anyway, do they ? My recipe for Chinese spareribs will leave your mouth watering, your hands sticky and your stomach full. And because in a few weeks, Lisa, webmistress and creator of Patsified!, will be holding her very own baby, I dedicate this recipe of the week to her.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
In large pan, melt the butter. Add the garlic and soup mix, cooking over medium heat until garlic is golden. Add the remaining ingredients and bringing to a slow boil, lower the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally for about 15 minutes.
While the sauce is cooking , arrange ribs on a large aluminum foil-lined broiler pan meaty side up. Bake 20 minutes. Brush spareribs very generously with sauce and continue baking for about 50 minutes (or until done), brushing occasionally with the remaining sauce.
As an appetizer this will feed lots of guests, but as a main course, it'll feed about 6 hungry adults.
