TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY
The Associate Degree in Textile Technology is given on successful completion of the Foundation Course, provided the student achieves a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2.00. Those students who opt for the Associate Degree in Textile Technology program are required to undertake a compulsory three month industrial internship after their 4th semester.
The Associate Degree in Textile Technology provides a good basic training in the overall operation of a modern textile plant from raw fiber to finished product. Subjects studied include spinning, weaving, machinery, fabric analysis and dyeing and finishing. The student will also spend 3 months observing actual operations in a textile facility that correspond to class work..
Other courses taught in this program include communications, mathematics, chemistry, physics, humanities and behavioral sciences.
Students graduating with an Associate Degree will be exceptionally well prepared for an entry level supervisory position in the textile industry.
