I am looking for a recipe that has been in my family for generations. It is German. My great-grandparents were named Gotleib and Katie Gauss. Came over here in early 1900's I think. We like to make a recipe called and I do not know the correct spelling as
my G-Grandma was not fluent in English. Anyway, we call them "Maldeshules" Mal-desh-ules. They are made of a beef and asparagus combo. Cooked and forked into a dough which is then folded over, encompassing the mixture. It is then fried. It is really good

Been looking for a recipe for Sauer Braten. My Mom made the best there was with beef soaked in vinegar all night, gravy made from ginger snaps with allspice wrapped in cheesecloth. I can do the gravy - what I can't seem to get right is the potato dumpli
gs. I know she put the potatoes through a ricer then mixed with flour and egg. She fried bread cubes in butter and as she made a the ball of the dumpling she put a cube of bread inside. Am I missing something in the recipe? The dumplings tend to eithe
