For Cherie...
Beloved wife, mother, and friend.
You will be as equally missed as loved.

Cheri's Words

"The sky is heavy with rain again. It is weeping heart-rending sobs for those who ache for what they do not have. I hear each raindrop as it beats against the window and I realize that in our own lives, when the agony of realization tears at our inner core, it is like the rain falling on a dry earth. While sunshine is what we crave and desire with our whole being, we know that constant sunshine produces desert. Rains do end and the sun shines forth on a newly watered earth. It will again in our hearts, and the end result will be glorious!!!"

FRIEND
Joy be the colour of her smile,
Happiness be the scent of her presence.
Love exuded as she walked amongst us,
And we are so thankful
She called us friend.

I will close my eyes and see her smile,
While I nap, I will feel her happiness.
When I need love, her spirit will be with me,
And I will be ever thankful
She called me friend.

High Flight

Oh, I have slipped the surely bonds of earth,
          and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings;
sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth
of sunsplit clouds and done a hundred things.

You've not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
high in the sunlit silence, hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace,
where never lark or even eagle flew.

And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod,
the high untrespassed sanctity of space,
put out my hand and touched the face of God.
                                 ----         John Gillespie Magee Jr.

That is, who Cheri was, her mind always soared far above the realm
of the regular, she was kind, loving and funny, real in every aspect
and never too tired to turn away a friend, to soothe a pain or to apply
a hug where and when and to whom needed.
