RAIN:
Right now, here in the state of Florida, we are experiencing the worst drought and fire season in 50 years. I went out to my garden and looked at all the wilting flowers. *sigh* On the local weather channels, they have been doing remotes from local parks, lakes, and near fire sites, doing "raindances." I tended to scoff at first... but today, I found myself looking about once was once a beautiful and promising garden, and found myself looking up into the sky for the great Goddess of Rain.. and, yes.. a little chant... someone must have heard me.. I felt a few speckles of water on my shoulder.. I looked over.. my neighbors sprinkler was on and the water was coming over the fence.. hey.. I believe in miracles...do you??? And if you know any raindance chants.. be sure to email me or even better.. sign the guestbook so we all can share it. *smile* And if you just want to know what is happening elsewhere weather-wise.. check out this link: Weather
FAMILIES:
Families are the backbone of our country. I am lucky.. I have a close family.. one that is not afraid to hug, to console, and to share... everything.. We like to send cards at times.. doesn't have to be a reason.. just see one and it seems to fit the thought. Here are a few post card sites that you might find interesting.. Take the time, send someone in your family a card:

TRADITIONS:
We are big on traditions here.
We have started a few traditions ourselves as well as carried on
some traditions from my family. For example: Every Christmas
Eve, we drive around to see the Christmas decorations and lights, and come
home, light a fire *no matter what the temperature*, sip hot cocoa and
open one present each. This was pretty much a family tradition that
I experienced as a child and have carried it on with my children.
The kids and I also have traditions for Oscar night and Election Night.
Oscar night, Mom does not have to cook, we settle down early, watch all
the gowns, and arrivals, and the Barbara Walters pre-show, then the Oscars.
Movies are a big part of our lives, and we have not missed one Oscar Night.
The kids are usually asleep once the Oscars start, but awaken to my shouts!!
Election night is a big night here too. No matter who is running,
we stay up until the end. I would love to hear from you...
tell me some of your traditions and I will post them here.
Email me and let me know!
