Even though I eventually moved into Broadcast Management I still prefer to
think of myself as a DJ. My last full time job in radio was as Director
(General Manager) of POP-FM in Athens, Greece. Now I'm semi-retired and still
do a little work as a Broadcast Consultant and do voice work for radio/TV
commercials here in Greece.
I used a lot of humor in my 30+ years as a Disk Jockey, or Air
Personality, or whatever the hell a DJ is called now. Some people even thought
I was entertaining, like the panel that chose me as "Billboard Magazine's
Military Air Personality of the Year" in 1979.

I really enjoyed the time I worked in broadcasting. Most of it was with the
Armed (or American, it was changed a couple of times) Forces Radio &
Television Service, AFRTS. While with the Air Force and AFRTS I got to work in
Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, Japan, England, Italy, Germany,
Turkey and Greece. Matter of fact I spent so much time outside the U.S. while I
was in the military I suffer culture shock whenever I visit my family in
California.
I consider myself EXTREMELY lucky to have made a living from a
hobby for 30 plus years. If you'd like to know more about my military or
civilian broadcast history, or AFRTS, pick an icon.
