PART TWO:
Wine Tasting and Dinner- after all, this is what we're all about!
A horizontal blind Cabernet Franc tasting was organized by Ike Kerschner. Several Pennsylvania wines were mixed with French and California offerings.
The French were average, one bottle was unfortunately corked which unfortunately clouded the evaluation of its replacement.
The Pennsylvania Franc's held their own, but the winner was a California North Coast offering according to many.
Thus ended the serious part of the day
Following the tasting a glorious dinner, highlighted and complimented by a cornucopia of Pennsylvania wines- many from the vintners' and growers private cellars, was served. Among those seen were Big Red, Chadds Ford Pinot Noir, Stargazer Vineyard Chardonnay, to name a few.
The next meeting is planned for summer at a member's vineyard.
