LOOKING AT THE WINERY

Named after the highest point in Berks County, Pinnacle Ridge Winery is located in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country along scenic Old Route 22 and is easily accessible by major highways. Pinnacle Ridge Winery takes advantage of the region's rich agricultural heritage amid a Southern exposure, shalefilled soil and high elevation afforded by the nearby Blue Mountains. The vineyard, which was established in 1995, is planted in vinifera and French and American hybrid grapes. Purchased by the Knapp Family in 1990, the property once was part of a dairy farm. The winery itself is housed in a renovated Pennsylvania Bank Barn built in 1851. The house and barn also provide local historical significance since designation as a Berks County Historical Site by the Berks County Conservancy. Pinnacle Ridge Winery is blessed with a history of hard work and a tradition of excellence. Sample that tradition with Pinnacle Ridge's splendid wines that cater to any taste.

HOURS Pinnacle Ridge Winery hours are Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.; or by appointment. Tours and tastings also are available. For more information? call (610) 7564481

1995 CHAMBOURCIN We LOVE Chambourcin and this 1995 version demonstrates why! Aging in American oak barrels for over one year gave this wine a finish as smooth as silk.
