Jon-Peter Jonsson
had his name changed to Jon Peter Jonsson Roos
(My GG Grandfather)
His Parents
He was born in Lilla Gölen
Edsleskogon on March 24, 1810 He was one of 10 children
Jon-Peter
Jonsson probably got his name Roos from the captain when he was
recruited for the services. Jan-Peter served for rote (the
military ward or station) no 65, Bergane, Tössbo Company no 7, Västgöta-Dals
Regiment. That was an infantry regiment. When a man became a
soldier, they could not keep their patronymic, because when the
officer should command his company, too many had acted if he
called Andersson or Petersson etc. Probably had the soldier in
rote no 65 Bergane before Jan-Peter also the name Roos, but I am
not sure about that. I guess that you already know that you can
translate the name Roos with 'rose', a very beautiful name
that he for sure was very proud of.
He married Katrina Jonsdotter in
Edsleskog in 1834. in Edsleskog.
and they had 7 Children:
Gustav Jonsson Roos: Born 1834
Britta-Maja Jonsdotter Roos: Born 1836
Maria-Cajsa Jonsdotter Roos: Born 1837
Johannes Jonsson Roos: Born 1840
Otto Jonsson Roos: Born 1854 (My G Grandfather)
Jon Roos died in 1881 in Bergane Edsleskog
