Description
The guava comes from a tree that is native to tropical America. It was widely cultivated by the Incas and can still be found all over South America as well as in a significant number of other tropical growing regions. The fruit is commonly 2 to 3 inches in diameter and range in color from white to yellow to red to green. It's flesh is typically white to yellow-orange and contains many edible seeds.

Preparation and Serving
It can be eaten fresh or cooked into many recipes including jams, jellies, sauces, pies and fruit salads.
