- Description
- This tuber belongs to the same family as the philodendron. It is irregularly shaped and weighs between 9 ounces and 2 pounds.
It has brownish skin and is high in starch content. It originates from South America and the West Indies. It also closely resembles the Taro and their are many overlapping names for both.
- Preparation and Serving
- Peel and soak in cold water if it is not to be used right away. The starch becomes digestible when cooked. It is often served grated
in crêpes and with fish or other vegetables. It can also be deep-fried.
