Geoff and Michelle's wedding was the
social event of 1996. It was July 7th 1996 in Vancouver, BC. The wedding was outdoors on
the University of British Columbia campus and the weather was beautiful. The Kilts
And a fine excuse it was to wear for all of the groomsmen to
wear kilts. As I've shown people the wedding pictures I'm always asked, "Oh, kilts.
Are you Scottish?" Well we're not Scottish ... not even a trace as far as I know. So
why the kilts? Well Rob Roy and Braveheart were big films, so that may have
been an influence. Mostly it was an opportunity to do something different, memorable, and
fun!
The kilts were very comfortable. The fur pouch that hangs in
the front is called a sporan. Kilts don't have pockets, so the sporan gives you a
place for your stuff or as the guy at The Scotch Shop told us, "The sporan is
where you keep your flask." |
