My Job
I get paid for being a server. I serve guests. I answer the phone. I take carryout orders. I make desserts and beverages. When I'm not busy, I help the rest of the team, or I clean. After another summer of that, I once again went back into the whole pie program for the holidays.
Every fall, Big Boy Restaurants advertise our pie program which I actively take part in. I have spent time learning proper procedures for pie making, display, advance ordering, etc. I enjoy doing that with any extra time I actually have at work.
This past summer, I was a server. This year has been smoother since it's my second year as a server, but low unemployment rates have kept our staff at an all-time low. I would love to hear from you about what you like and dislike about servers in general.
