VEN EZU ELA


VENEZUELA: republic, South America, bounded on the N by the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, on the E by Guyana, on the S by Brazil, and on the SW and W by Colombia. The total area of Venezuela is 912,050 sq Km (352,144 sq mi.)Venezuela population are around 23.000.000 of people. The Capital of Venezuela is Caracas. the official language is Spanish and the currency is the "Bolivar (Bs)"

VENEZUELAN BEERS

 

In April of 1843, in the exuberant forest at the mountain about 30/40 miles from Caracas, in what today is the Colonia Tovar Village (Aragua State), the first German colonists were established and with the most fervent tradition, They elaborated the first beer in Venezuela.

The first beer cans was of 295 cc, years later the breweries change the cans to 250 cc. Only in 1996 "Cervecera Nacional" released the first 355 can.

Many years ago, there was several breweries in Venezuela, "Cervecería Venezolana de Maiquetía", "Cervecería Aragua C.A.", Cervecería Zulia, Cervecerías Unidas, Cervecería Unión, Cervecería de Maracaibo, Cervecería La Criolla, Heineken de Venezuela, Cervecería de Caracas, Cervecería Nacional, Cervecería El Aguila, Cervecería de Ciudad bolivar, Cervecería de Pto. Cabello y Valencia, "Cervecería Andes C.A.", "Cervecería La Llanera", but at the present time in Venezuela there are three Breweries:

Cervecería Polar C.A.

Cervecería Polar (Polar Brewery) was born in March 14 1941.

At present produces Polar Beer (pilsener) , Solera Beer, Polar light, La Negra (Black Beer) and Maltin Polar (Malt without alcohol)

Polar Beer at present time its sold in cans of 250 cc and 355 cc, and bottles of 222cc, 330 cc and 500 cc and Polar Maltin in cans of 295 cc. Bottles of 222cc and 250 cc.

La Negra in bottles of 222; Solera in bottles of 222cc and cans of 250cc, Polar Light in bottles of 222cc and cans of 295cc.

C.A. Cervecera Nacional :

Produces Nacional beer, Brahma beer (a Brazilian brand) Malta Brahma, Malta Caracas, and several Beer and Malts' brands for export. Some years ago They manufactured other brands like: Caracas, Zulia and Cardenal . In 1994 this Brewery was bought by Brahma from Brazil

Brahma beer comes in cans of 250 cc and 355 cc, and bottles of 222cc and 355 cc, the malts Brahma and Caracas in cans of 295 cc, bottles of 222cc and 250 cc. and the Nacional Beer in cans of 295 cc, bottles of 355 cc.

C.A. Cervecería Regional

Cervecería Regional was born in 1.927.

Produces Regional Beer in cans of 250 cc and 295 cc, bottles of 222cc, 355 cc and 500 cc, and Regional Malt in cans of 295 cc and bottles of 222 cc and 250 cc.

In 1997 this Brewery carried out a strategic association with Interbrew.

 

IMPORTED BEERS

In Venezuela different imported Beers are sold, and TOVAR, a beer produced in Germany by Schaller Brau K.G. only for The Colonia Tovar , but you can find it also in Caracas.
