Jess Klein--Links

Jess Klein

I first heard Jess Klein when she played at the 1998 Somerville Winter Folk Festival. She has an amazingly powerful voice and writes songs that are alternately scorching and soothing. She lives and plays mostly in the Boston area.

Favorite Album
wishes well disguised

Favorite Song
It's a tossup between "Soldier" and "Pressure."

Favorite Lyric
"You get a dirty diamond in your chest at birth and you can make it shine/But don't wait for the DeBeers to tell you what it's worth/You've just got to say, this is dirty and it's mine."--from "Enough Room For The Sun"

Jess's Official Site is now up and running!
Jess Klein at FolkZone is the only other site I've found on her, and it's woefully out of date (they inform you that she's just released a tape, "flattery"--in fact, she's since released another tape ["live"] and a full-length CD!).
