All My Pretty Horses
There were horses in the stables
And the stables were right next door
I saw a girl once ride those very horses
It might have been me, I'm not really sure
Oh memory has a keen edge
Drawing blood and sometimes more
And all my pretty horses fly
Oh my childhood coming to see me
In the shapes of those I've loved
There were mountains in the far off distance
And they asked me what could be done
Oh the climbing can seem endless
But I climbed them every one
And all my pretty horses fly
All my pretty horses fly
And I stay here in my stillness
With my ghosts of memory
There was dancing; I still can remember
Like the apples taken from our tree
Oh my daughters fly like horses
In the flying remember me
And all my pretty horses fly
All my pretty horses fly
All my pretty horses fly
