EASY PEANUT BUTTER BARS
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup white corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups corn flakes
1 cup rice krispies
FROSTING:
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1-1/4 cups powdered sugar
In a heavy sauce pan over medium heat, cook sugar, corn syrup and peanut butter, stirring until well blended. Add vanilla. Pour peanut butter mixture over corn flakes and rice krispies. Mix and press in a greased 8 x 8-in. pan.
Prepare frosting: Mix margarine, brown sugar and milk in a small saucepan. Bring to boil and boil for 2 minutes. Cool. Add powdered sugar to make spreading consistency.
