Five-Flavor Pound Cake
Yield: 1 cake (10")

1 cup Butter (or marg.); softened
1/2 cup Shortening
3 cup Sugar
5 large Eggs
3 1/4 cup Flour, cake; sifted
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1 cup Milk
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1/2 tsp Lemon extract
1/2 tsp Rum flavoring
1/2 tsp Coconut flavoring

GLAZE
1/2 cup Sugar
1/3 cup Water
1/2 tsp Almond extract

Beat butter and shortening at medium speed with electric mixer about 2
minutes or until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed
5 to 7 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until yellow
disappears.

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to butter mixture
alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix
at low speed just until blended after each addition. Stir in
flavorings. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10" tube pan.

Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until a wooden pick
inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove
from pan, and place on wire rack. Spoon Glaze over cake while warm.
Cool completely on wire rack.

Glaze: Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil
over medium heat. Remove from heat; stir in almond extract. Yield:
about 1/2 cup.
