CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE

3 c. sugar
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. shortening
5 eggs
5 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, sugar and shortening. Than add vanilla,
add eggs one at a time. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and
cocoa twice. Then add dry mixture alternately with milk. Use
tube pan that has been greased and floured. Bake in oven at
325 degrees for 1 hour and 25 or 30 minutes. If plain pound cake is
desired, omit the cocoa.
