Grammy's Sugar Cookies

Preheat oven: 375 degree

1st group 
"mix together good separately"
2 Cups Sugar
2 Stick margarine
2 eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla(liquid of brown)

2nd group
"mix separately alternately"
5 cups of flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk (maybe a little less) (can use whole, 
  half, or skim milk)

Add dry mixture and buttermilk to first mixture alternately
(for example: buttermilk to 1st mixture then dry mixture to 
1st mixture then buttermilk to 1st. etc.)

Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie mixture onto greased 
cookie sheet. Flatten with a the bottom of a flat glass 
which has been greased and dipped in sugar.  Don't flatten 
too much.  Sprinkle each cookie with sugar.  Bake for about 
9 minutes.  Keep an eye on them.  Immediately remove with 
a spatula.  Before putting on next batch, dust off excess 
sugar and regrease.
