Hope's Apple Pie

8 cups tart green apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter

Place prepared apple slices into large bowl. 

In a small bowl, mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt; add this 
mixture to the apple slices and mix well. Turn apples into prepared 
pie shell; dot with the butter.

Cover with top crust; seal edge shut by pinching together, then trim 
excess pastry to 1-inch from edge, making it even. Now roll the crust 
under and then flute the edges. Sprinkle top with sugar.

Bake for 1 hour in 350f oven, or until crust is brown and juice is 
bubbling.
