Leverington and St' Paul's Cemetery / Roxborough Burial Grounds

In October of 1999 I traveled to Pennsylvania for my first time since starting my Genealogy research. I had over the course of time found that some of the Tibben people were born and had been living in Roxborough Township in the early 1700ths. I also found that most of them were either buried at the Leverington, or St' Paul's Cemetery, or The Roxborough Burial Grounds.

In searching the Leverington Cemetery and asking questions I learned that the Roxborough Burial Grounds were at the same location Ridge & Lyceum Avenues. The burial grounds were located right behind the present day Roxborough Baptist Church, and the Leverington Cemetery just to the north on 16 acres. I started walking the grounds and was able to locate ancestors that I had known only by record were buried there. So after 3 full days I indeed found more than my records indicated. I learned some ticks on my own to be able to see some of the headstone markings clearer. One of these was to spray water from a bottle, secondly was to use school chalk over the names. The water helped me see the names, and dates somewhat better, and the chalk really helped in the preparation to take images.

Below are the photos which were taken with my Nikon 950 Cool Pix digital camera.
