Auntie Doris's Scones
1lb self-raising flour
1 level teaspoon cream of tartar
6oz sugar
6oz margarine
2 eggs
Raisins (about a handful)
Sift together flour and cream of tartar. Add sugar, rub in margarine. Add beaten eggs, but save some for glazing. Add raisins. Mix till combined. Roll out to about an inch thick. Cut into circles with pastry cutter and glaze with beaten egg. Bake on baking sheet at Gas Mark 6 (400F/200C) for 20-30 minutes.
