Bolognese Sauce

8oz (225g) minced beef
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tbsp olive oil
14oz (400g) can of tomatoes
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp freshly-milled black pepper
1/2 tsp salt

Brown the minced beef in the olive oil with the onion and garlic. Add the tomatoes and the remaining ingredients. Simmer, uncovered for 30 minutes, or until the meat is done and the sauce has thickened. Serve with freshly grated parmesan cheese. Serves 2
